Fundamentals and Foundations of Art with Mrs. Flores
​2pm-3pm Grades 4th-6th  with a max of 15 students

Students will cover the Elements and Principals of Art while creating work that inspires creativity, expanding their knowledge of artists from past to present, along with the proper use of materials and mediums. In addition, they will learn how to catalog their artistic journey, collaborate on group projects and installations, and do community outreach. It’s also important to learn how to classify art and proper art critique skills, set up their own gallery show, and write about their process and inspiration for their work.

The student’s artwork will be created by drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, and textiles. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with fun and engaging processes incorporating several different materials and mediums. All work will be placed into a portfolio and saved for an end-of-semester art show.

Students are expected to participate each week for the entire semester as class foundations learned can directly affect another project previously covered and some projects take several weeks to complete. Classes begin Wednesday, September 6.

Class fees:
Art supply fee is $25 and non-refundable.
$15 per class paid monthly or semester 
September $45, October $60, November $60, December $30, or $195 per semester.
All payments are due by the 1st of the month.
